Licensed Therapists Specializing in Women's Health, Lactation, and Infant Development

What is Blue Door Holistic Therapy and Lactation?

The Blue Door was created to be a place where women and their children can both get the care they need, under one roof, from the same trusted team.

For women, that means pelvic floor therapy, pregnancy care, birth preparation, and postpartum recovery. It means getting answers about pain, bladder symptoms, sexual health, and returning to the life and activity you want. It means having a provider who takes your symptoms seriously and builds a plan around your actual life.

For babies and young children, that means lactation + feeding support, developmental therapy, and infant bodywork. It means having a specialist assess why feeding is hard, why a milestone is being missed, or why your baby seems uncomfortable in their own body, and then doing something about it.

Our team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and board-certified lactation consultants serves families across Pasco County and Greater Tampa Bay from pregnancy through early childhood.

How we work

Every provider at The Blue Door Holistic Therapy and Lactation takes a whole-body approach. That means we look at posture, movement, body mechanics, tension, and nervous system function together. We find the root cause of what is going on and build a plan around it. You will never leave a visit without knowing what comes next.

Common Questions

  • Your first visit starts with a conversation about your history and goals, followed by a physical assessment. If you consent, we complete a pelvic floor muscle evaluation to understand your strength and coordination. You will leave with a clear plan and specific things to work on before your next visit.

  • Your baby’s first visit includes a thorough review of history and feeding concerns, followed by a gentle whole-body assessment, including oral motor skills, body tension, and nervous system regulation. A feeding observation and/or weighted feed may also be completed if needed. Please bring any items you are currently using, such as bottles, pumps, or pacifiers.

  • We accept most major commercial insurance plans for lactation services, including Cigna, UHC, Aetna, Anthem, Multiplan, and Velocity. We accept HSA and FSA and can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement.

  • No referral is needed to get started. You can contact us directly to schedule your first visit.

  • Yes, babies are welcome. Many of our clients are postpartum or actively breastfeeding, and we want care to be as accessible as possible.

  • We prioritize in-person appointments because hands-on care is at the core of what we do. Virtual sessions are available for current clients who need a more flexible option to fit a busy schedule. Contact us to talk through what works best for you.

  • Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing you can move in.

  • Results come in stages. Early sessions focus on identifying root causes and building body awareness. From there, treatment shifts to direct symptom relief. Most clients feel meaningful changes during that middle phase, then finish with building long-term strength and resilience. Best way to determine how many sessions this will take is to receive a personalized assessment from one of our therapists.
